Authentication
Here we are stranded in a weird situation: The authentication process ended up being dependent on the additional service "Apereo CAS": https://www.apereo.org/projects/cas. The reason is not cmopletly clear in retrospect. Probably the direct integration of LDAP wasn't possible before due to the missing memberOf overlay in the directory service. As this limitation doesn't seem to exist anymore the CAS service can probably be replaced by a direct LDAP integration.
Limits
There is a quota on a per user basis that is currently set to 500 MB. Exceptions exist for a couple of "power users". This should be improved by a more sane rule like "official contributors have a fixed limit of n MB".
Apps
Collabora online office
This is completely provided by Hostsharing. There are no limits within this service.
Talk
Sadly this app it isn't working as expected. We've encountered issues in audio and video calls. This is probably due to an isufficient configuration of the TURN/STUN settings and their regarding service by Hostsharing. However this app is still enabled for evaluation purposes.
Structure
There is a special user nc.folderadmin that acts as a global owner of all centralized data structures. It is holding all files of the functional groups of the movement.
Customizations
Some customizations are implemented by CSS rules in the Custom CSS sections of the Theming settings page:
- disabled the color gradient in the header, which we felt looks rather unsatisfying
- disabled the password change form, because this is completely handled by the directory service
